Hitting the Wall by Cate C. Wells

This was a fantastic read. It was so incredibly well written and such a beautiful story. I LOVED it! Got sucked in and then wasn’t able to put it down until I finished, which was slightly problematic with my work and family life. This book even hit one of my triggers in the very beginning(the h is 17 in the prologue and the hero 24), but it’s so well written and so well handled that I had no problem with it.

I especially loved how she wrote the little girl in this story – I can only speak to my own experiences fighting for my kiddos in the school system and with IEPs but there was a lot here that was very accurate and the frustrations and helplessness and hopelessness that you can feel was so accurately captured.
What I loved the most was that not only was this a full story- with a H and h struggling through their issues dropped into a larger mystery, but these are very complete characters with their own flaws. I loved seeing how both of them grew throughout the story. This was also very much a slow burn for the first half and I loved that. Sometimes this can be hit or miss, but here it’s definitely a hit!

I don’t think I can recommend this book enough – I just loved it. LOVED IT!
