Love this sweet slow burn!
I loved the characters created and the storyline. This started off as a slow burn, sweet romance, but about 2/3rds in a twist occurs and it turns into something more more steamy and different. The author gives us a glimpse into a world I’m not so familiar with and I loved the details around that.
The only thing that kept this from a 5 star read from me is that when the twist came it felt like it came out of nowhere and it took me a bit to be able to switch gears. I also felt like – even though this is clearly a stand alone and NOT a cliffhanger, there were a few loose threads at the end so I’m curious if this is going to be part of a series and we will see more of some of the characters we meet here in later books.
