Betrayed Honor starts off with Nadia’s 18th birthday, when she and Mikhail share a moment – a very steamy one. He is head of the Ivanov family’s security and doesn’t feel he is good enough for her, so in a classic OTT alpha male move he tells her it’s a mistake and is never to be. The book then picks up three years later as one of Nadia’s brothers are about to be married. Just after the wedding an incident occurs, and Mikhail decides all bets are off and the steam and chemistry as those two come together takes off and just keeps going.
This is book third book in the Ivanov Crime Family series, but you don’t need to have read the previous ones in order to enjoy this one. I had read the first one, but not the second, and I had no trouble picking this up and following right along. I very much enjoy Zoe Blake’s writing style and love the steam in these. The one thing that keeps this from being a five star read for me, and had me struggling a bit at a four, is Nadia. She was incredibly immature in some ways, for having grown up in a crime family. It’s mentioned that for most of her life she was kept in the dark about the true nature of her family’s business, but even so there was a bit of the spoiled brat to the way she thought and behaved, but despite this I still loved the book.
If you love over-the-top alpha men, and lots of steam and some kink, then this book is probably for you!
