Once you start this, it’s hard to put down!
Emery and Brodie first come upon each other at a chance crossing at a donut shop late one night, neither realizing how both their lives are about to change and how intertwined they are about to become. Emery is coming back home to escape trouble she is leaving behind after serving in the Army, and Brodie is living in her hometown after having moved there to help her best friend when she was in trouble. Brodie is instantly intrigued by his first glimpse of Emery, so is unprepared when his next assignment as a cleaner for the mafia is to kill Emery. Thus starts a fast paced journey as Brodie struggles with his assignment and what he will do and is forced to act fast when a second contract killer is sent out to finish what he hasn’t.
Once you start this, it’s hard to put it down, you just want to keep turning pages to figure out what’s going to happen next. I had not read either of the previous books in this series, but had no trouble picking this one up and following along. Highly recommend it and plan on reading the first two next!
