I keep thinking it’s just not possible for me to like the next book more than the last, and yet it here we are with one I’m loving just as much as the one before.
This is the second book in the Grassi Family series and it was fantastic. Lucky meets Via when he heads to Chicago to take care of a situation for his “family”. Their attraction is immediate, but both try to ignore it. Lucky because he is under orders to, and Via because she has lived as an almost recluse sequestered in her own home under the tyrant rule of her father, and has learned not to give in to her own emotions. As they both try to deal with the situation in Chicago, they get to know each other and their attraction only grows. This is a sweet romance in an unusual set of circumstances. I loved how strong and independent Via is – she is absolutely no doormat- but she wasn’t hard or combative and I loved reading about how she opens up to Lucky. You definitely don’t have to read the first book, or any of Jessica Gadziala’s other connected books, but I highly recommend them all – they are entertaining and fantastic reads.
