Entwined by E.C. Land

Entwined is the story of Allison and Mitch. Allison’s father has arranged for her to be married to Mitch. Mitch works with and is good friends with Allison’s sister husband. Both sisters live in Ireland and their father is involved in the Irish Mafia. The first book in the series, Embraced, tells the story of Bridget and Dean. Allison is very different from Bridget. Allison is more of a loner, quiet and not prone to drama. Although nervous, she is much more accepting of her arranged marriage and finds that she very much is attracted to Mitch. This story is about how the two of them find their way together. Mitch was previously married and in love with his wife who was killed while pregnant with his son, and Mitch has never really gotten over their loss. This books takes you on the journey to how he overcomes this and he and Allison find their way.

These books are short, quick reads but very enjoyable. Because of their length, sometimes details seems to be rushed slightly, but you know when you pick it up and it’s under 150 pages that this might be the case.

Despite this being a series, it is definitely a standalone. I also have a feeling that there are a lot of characters that pop up in this that come from other series by E.C. Land, and despite not having read those, my enjoyment wasn’t hindered any. I’m not going to give away any of the plot, but there is some mystery and surprises that come Allison and Mitch’s way, and there is some OW drama and angst. Highly recommend if you like mafia/organized crime books, romances, and angst. It’s a quick but good read.
