I picked this one up and couldn’t put it down until I finished. Seriously. Emma is about to enter into an arranged marriage. She thinks she is to marry one man and has been looking forward to her wedding. At the last minute she is told her father has agreed to an arranged marriage with someone Emma considers their enemy and she isn’t happy about it. When she first meets Shay, she is adversarial and immature, and he is having none of it – locks her in a closet twice in short span of time.
This has everything you could hope for – dark, steamy, violent and romantic all in one. The action in this is almost non-stop. There was a lot going on with the different fractions, and at the same time Shay is looking for revenge for his brother’s murder many years before. Emma starts off incredibly immature, but quickly seems to grow up and gain some maturity. I loved seeing how their attraction for each other developed into a relationship and can’t wait for the next book in the series!
