Striker and Beth’s story did not disappoint. I think my favorite in the Dimarco world so far!
I’ve been intrigued by both Beth and Striker since we I was first introduced to both in Sydney. Their story did not disappoint. This might even be my favorite book of hers. Striker is very closed off and guarded. Beth is incredibly shy and introverted. She was the sister of a criminal who involved her in his criminal world, and imprisoned her in their home. After helping the Elite Securities team and law enforcement take her brother down, Striker is tasked with simply getting her to next living location, but to his own amazement he becomes her bodyguard – watching over her during the following years to make sure she is safe.
Despite watching closely over her, they have not interacted much during this time, but when a new threat comes on for Beth, things start to change. I enjoyed reading out how during the course of the story both Beth and Striker evolved – not just together – but also as individuals. Striker learns to open up and be less guarded with Beth, and Beth learns how to be her own person and be more strong.
Despite being the third in the Elite Securities series and part of the Dimarco world, this is very much a standalone and you don’t need to have read any of the ones before it to be able to follow along and enjoy it, but I highly advise it as they are all so good!
