My favorite thing about starting a new Jessica Gadziala is that I know I’m going to love it. With 80 plus books, I’ve yet to find one that is less than 4 stars for me and this one is no exception. There are times when what I really want is some strong angst- and this definitely has that. It starts off with Billie still reeling months later from the harsh verbal rejection that Rowe gave her. She had been crushing hard on him for a long time when that happened. Since then she has been avoiding him as much as possible, but still all these months later is feeling out of sorts and not quite herself because of it.
Suddenly the two of them are forced to spend time together when Rowe is injured and Billie’s family turn to her to help him with his recovery. What follows is typical MC and Jessica Gadziala fun of club trouble intermixed the usual trouble these heroines find themselves at the center of.
I loved this story for a variety of reasons- the angst, the mystery, but also the characters themselves. Billie is Peyton’s daughter from Sugar and she is just as quirky, different and fun as Peyton. Rowe is dedicated, committed to the Henchmen, but caring and protective of those that he cares for and he is the perfect balance to Billie. This is a standalone, but if you haven’t read any of the others I highly recommend them since they are all great reads!
