Sweet, slow burn, new adult, sports romance!
Hazel has been hurt before and puts up a wall of sarcasm and mean to not only hide behind, but to also hide the secrets of her past. Aiden has been a star athlete, hoping to one day go professional and has been somewhat of a playboy. When they first meet they seem to be complete opposites, not to mention throwing in the complication of Aiden playing soccer for the college team Hazel’s dad coaches.
What follows is a slow burn, sweet romance that has lots of heartbreaking complications. I very much enjoyed this and am hoping there is more to come with books for their best friends and maybe even Aiden’s sister. The only difficult part for me were sometimes there were some inconsistencies for me with Aiden. He would think one thing, but then sometimes act in another way – but at the same time it also fit well with who he was in trying to figure out for himself who he was growing to be.
