Incredibly emotional and intense story.
This is a spinoff of The Dark Eyes duet, which I’ve actually not yet read. I had absolutely no trouble picking this up and following right along. This is not a quick nor light read. The story deals with incredible angst and emotion as it deals with some heavy situations involving grief and loss. I loved every minute of this. I rarely, if ever, cry when reading books, but definitely shed a few tears while reading this one.
Amethyst lives in a home filled with vampires, and has a strong attraction for Wolf, one of those vampires living with her. What follows is the story of their relationship as it the attraction turns to more but they also have to deal with life changing situation that creates a great deal of emotional upheaval and devastation for everyone and how they deal with it. This was a fantastic book and I loved every minute of this angsty read.
