This was a great slow burn romantic suspense!
Late one night after work hours, Josie shows back up to her work when she isn’t supposed to be there to pick something up she accidentally left behind. Being in the wrong place at the wrong time, she witnesses her boss, Matteo Grassi, doing work for the “family business”. Matteo was born into the family, but has also maintained a bit of a distance from the family, working a legitimate business and only occasionally helping with family issues when it can’t be avoided. The night Josie witnesses him in action is one such night and what follows is an adventure as they each work to find their way with this situation, while also being incredibly attracted to each other.
I very much loved this story – Josie and Matteo are come from very different backgrounds and are very different people, but fit each other incredibly well. This was a great slow burn romantic suspense! Perfect read for my cross-country flight.
