Fender and Jo were in love as teens when a misunderstanding separates them. Years later Jo is a single mom, forced to move when she loses her job and can’t find any other work nearby but an opportunity arises for work in New Orleans. When the story opens she is moving there with her daughter for this new opportunity. Fender, a member of the The Kings of Retribution, but a songwriter and musician by heart, but is struggling as his mother is in the final stages of her battle with cancer. He is shocked to find that the girl he once loved and destroyed his heart is now living in the same city he calls home. Their paths cross and this is where the heart of the story begins.

There is a lot that happens in this book as we get to know Fender and Jo and they get to know each other again. Their history is complicated and they have a lot to work through in coming together again. I loved the depth that you get with both Fender and Jo. This was a touching, heartwarming second chance romance that brings out all the feels. I actually had read Riggs when it first came out, but haven’t read any of the others in this series. Despite that I had no problem following along. If second chance, single mom, or mc romances are of interest to you then this is definitely one you need to read!
