Loved this deep and emotional story that leaves you feeling really good at the end – can’t wait to read more by this author.
This is my first by this author and it definitely won’t be my last. The Family You Make is really all about families, both born and blood. Both Jane and Levi have events from their past that have caused them to move away and have deeply impacted their relationships in the present. Jane never lets herself get attached to anyone and tends to move around a lot as a traveling nurse, never staying for long in one place. Levi has things from his past that caused him move far from his family. Both find themselves back in Levi’s hometown and stranded together in a situation from which they are afraid they won’t survive. Impulsively Levi tells his mom that Jane is his girlfriend, so when they do survive, he convinces her to continue to pretend.
This story was so fantastic – there are so many layers and depths to Jane and Levi and all of the interconnected people within their lives. I loved getting to know all of them and am almost sad to reach the end. The Family You Make was a sweet, heartfelt and heartwarming romance and was the perfect book to read on a snowy day. It was deep and emotional but leaves you feeling really good at the end. LOVED this and can’t wait to read more by this author.
