Caught by Love by Melissa Foster

I love books where the relationships start off as friends with benefits, or more casual, and then something happens to change the mix. This book did not disappoint at all and definitely fit exactly what I had been searching for! When the story starts Archer and Indi have known each other for a while since Archer’s sister is one of Indi’s best friends. Indi lives in the city, but is looking for a change and planning to move to Silver Island, where Archer lives. Archer has had a difficult time and has been impacted by past events he hasn’t been able to let go of. As a result, he keeps things very surface, never gets serious, and has no intentions of ever getting into a relationship. However, when Indi makes it clear her move to the Island means they need to stop the benefits side of their friendship, Archer realizes he isn’t ready for that to happen.

This was such a fun book to read with all of the side characters that make up Archer and Indi’s world. I loved how fleshed out all of their family is and the layers and depths they add to the story. This has angst, and deals with some heavy topics, but it’s not a dark read at all, and leaves you feeling great at the end! Melissa Foster does a fantastic job of balancing heavy emotions with sweet romance and there were times I even found myself laughing out loud while reading this book. Definitely recommend this one!
