This is an intense, rich, dark fantasy romance!
Adelaide Forrest has created a dark, rich fantasy world in this first installment in the Of Flesh & Bone series. I loved the complexity of not just the world created in this story, but also the characters. The first part of the story, as we learn the world and the setup leading up to the story, took a bit for me to get into – but I’m someone that doesn’t mind being dumped right into the thick of a new world and figuring it out as we move through. Once you hit the 30% point, the story picks up and becomes intense. Estrella and Caelum have sparks, attraction and heat from the moment they meet, and this only continues to grow as you move through the story. Despite the fact that I clearly saw the twist that comes at the end from very early on, I still can’t wait to get the next installment of this series. Adelaide Forrest is a master at dark romance and she clearly transfers that talent into this complex dark, and rich fantasy romance.
