Engaging and fun, loved the angst!
I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book after getting a glimpse of them in Ignite. Gianni and Ellie parents are best friends and they’ve grown up together and currently work together as well. Gianni has always driven Ellie a bit crazy with his antics and their personalities could not be more different. Ellie takes everything seriously, loves her hometown and plans to make a life for herself not only carrying on the family legacy but working to expand it. Gianni is charming and fun, can lighten any situation, and loves to do new things and be in new places. He has a fear of being bored, not just in his work but in all walks of his life. These two have always had an attraction for each other that neither has been aware, but it is all about to come to a head.
Gianni and Ellie head out for a work event for Ellie and become stranded together in the snow. Their chemistry and attraction come together and make for a fun, steamy and angsty read. I laughed out loud a number of times at things Gianni said or did. Enemies to lovers is not always my favorite trope, because I’m not a fan of verbal sparring, and you get quite a lot of that in this one, but it was an engaging and fun book and I loved the angst. There is added depth in getting Gianni’s point of view as he finds himself saying all the wrong things and I loved being in that point of view as we see him grow throughout the story.
