Always You by Samantha Young

Samantha Young is such a good storyteller. She creates these complex, full characters and the stories have a lot of depth to them. Here we have Arro and Mac’s story, and I’ve been waiting for this one after all the brief glimpses we got of the two of them in the earlier books in this series. I am not a big fan of flipping between past and present, but we only get that a few times and not at all after the first third of the book. However, it felt a bit like a missed opportunity not to have those scenes written as they happened, especially since the most critical one was the source of a great deal of angst for Arro and the catalyst for their current situation and I would have loved to have read more of that as it was happening. My favorite thing about their love story is how much time is spent on Mac and his work to correct the errors that he has made along the way. As with the first two books, there is an added suspense and mystery complicated things for Mac and Arro as they work to figure out who is out to cause harm. We also get glimpses of future books in the series and I can’t wait now to read the next one!
