⭐⭐⭐
Steamy read of what happens when best friends get married while on a drunken binge in vegas!
Fiona Cole is a talented writer. When you are reading one of her books, you feel like these are real people whose lives you are getting a glimpse into. I couldn’t wait to jump into Raelynn and Austin’s story after being introduced to them earlier in the series – especially with the teaser we get at the end of book two. Raelynn has always said she won’t get married and to that end, doesn’t do relationships. So when she glimpses Austin from across the room at a frat party in college she approaches him for a night of fun. Austin is determined that he won’t be a one and done for her, so he turns her down, and instead works to become her best friend. Fast forward several years later and they are still the best of friends, but on a crazy night out in vegas they get drunk and wake up in the morning married. Just as Raelynn has been certain since she was young that she will never marry, Austin has been just as certain he will only marry once. This story follows them as they try and maneuver through their friendship, sudden marriage, and how they can work this out.
For me, I never fully understood or connected with Raelynn. She harped on the marriage aspect, but there is a difference between relationships and marriage and she was so intractable in the way she spoke about it that it felt very immature to me and unreasonable. She had valid reasons to feel how she did, but we get that information very late in the story. Despite that, this was a steamy read for sure!
