Loved this sweet friends to lovers romance!
Hadley and Calder at one point were the best of friends. Hadley always felt that Calder understood her when no one else around her did. He was the one that introduced her to mountain biking, and the escape it could offer when things around her got to be too much. But several years back Calder almost lost his daughters to a terrible accident and has since pulled away from Hadley. She is at a crossroads in her life right now, having a terrible time with the constraints her family, especially her mother, keeps trying to put on her, and is also struggling with other aspects of her life. Calder is suddenly in the position of having to reevaluate his feelings for Hadley when a work situation becomes a close call for Hadley.
This was an emotional book dealing with some heavy topics, especially the situation with Hadley’s mother. Loved Hadley and Calder and Hadley’s relationship with the twins. This also has a fair amount of suspense as Hadley is being harassed by an unknown person, which adds to the angst and stress that she is under. I loved that this wasn’t an insta-love, but we get to follow along as they regain their friendship and allow it to grow into something more. Can’t wait for the next in the series!
