Sweet romance that deals with some really heavy topics. LOVED THIS.
This was a great start to a new series! I love rock star romances, and this was really well done. Nikki Ash has written a really layered, and complex story that deals with some heavy topics, but does it really well and despite the heavy topics, is actually a really sweet romance at its heart. Camden always had a thing for Layla. She moved in next door to his family when they were in high school, they became best friends and although Camden always had a thing for Layla, she never knew this since the timing was never right. However, five years after they part ways, they meet again and this time Camden decides he isn’t going to miss out on his chance for happiness with Layla. However, Layla is coming off a very bad marriage, difficult divorce and is giving her all right now to her son and forging a new life ahead for the both of them.
Layla and Camden’s road to happiness is not an easy one and along their path they have a lot of ups and downs and I loved reading how they navigate these. I was completely wrapped up in their story and read it in one sitting. We spent time meeting Camden’s bandmates, Layla’s friends and now I’m intrigued and impatient for the rest of the books in this series!
