Hey, Mister Marshall by Saffron A. Kent

Saffron A. Kent is a master at writing such delicious angsty romance that leaves you hanging on the edge of your seat with baited breath turning pages to see just how everything will all come together. Hey, Mister Marshall is no exception. I’m fairly new to her books, only started reading them with book two in this series, but I’m certainly now addicted to these. She has a way of putting words together where the emotions and angst just jump off the page. It feels like I can see the steam rising from kindle. This is a slow burn romance, and yet there is still so much chemistry and heat, even in the early parts of the story. In many ways Poe and Alaric couldn’t be more different and yet in other ways they were exactly alike. Both have very tragic and toxic pasts that have made them who they are here. In many ways this is a story that shouldn’t have worked for me – I’m not usually a fan of guardian/ward stories, and yet I loved every minute of reading this one, from the first page to the last! Despite this being the fourth book in the series, it’s definitely a standalone and although you don’t have to have read the others to enjoy this one, I absolutely recommend since they are all just as good as this one.
