LOVED this addition to the series!
I was so happy to be back in the world of the Men of Haven. This time we get Danny and Callie’s story. When I first realized who Callie was, I felt some trepidation since she had not been much of a sympathetic character at the start of the series. But at the beginning of this story, when we meet Callie again, she has made some drastic changes in her life and is a completely different person. Callie hit her absolute rock bottom about a year ago and now that staying sober seems to be working, she moves back home to begin the process of making amends to those who mean the most to her. By coincidence she runs into Danny again when goes in to his custom build/design garage looking for work.
Danny and Callie’s story is slow burn and I enjoyed watching their relationship progress slowly as they spent time together getting to know each other. There was a lot in this story that can resonate for anyone who has ever made mistakes in their lives and look to make changes and have a second chance. This seemed a little bit of a different change of pace from some of the previous books in the series, but it really worked for me. I’m hoping we have more in the series still to come – I love this world!
