My favorite of the series so far!
Shattered Sea is probably my favorite of this series so far. I don’t cry easily or often with books, in fact I can’t remember the last time I cried reading a book, and yet this prologue definitely had me in tears. Shattered Sea is about two people who have both had their lives shattered by events involving deep loss and grief. Laiken ten years prior, and Boden just six months before. Their paths cross when Boden comes to town to try and get away from his past while at the same time doing research for his next film project. Both Laiken and Boden aren’t ready for something deep or serious, but their attraction and chemistry is obvious and their paths keep crossing at just the right time.
I loved everything about this. Reading about Laiken and Boden and how they got to where they are, and how their shared grief and loss helps to make them a perfect fit for each other. Weaved perfectly into this love story is a murder mystery with a twist that even I didn’t see coming. This is a standalone that is part of an interconnected series. You don’t need to have read any of the others to enjoy it, but I’ve loved all the books in this series so definitely recommend jumping into all of them.
