Nicky the Driver by Cate C. Wells

This dark mafia romance hooked me from the first page. Zita and Nicky have known each other since they were in school together, but Zita hasn’t seen him for years when she is forced to agree to marry him. She has been striving to have a “normal” life away from the “family” but in one evening all of that is changed. I love how Cate C. Wells creates these complicated heroes and heroines and throws them into intense situations where the chemistry and sparks can practically heat up the page.

While Zita is all about trying to find “normal”, Nicky is simply all about Zita. Both of them have complicated and dark pasts that have shaped them into who they are. Nicky is my favorite kind of hero- intense, protective, but also stoic and hard to read. I always love how well developed Cate C. Wells characters are and that you can get really get to know them and what makes them tick. Nicky the Driver is intense, steamy and exactly the kind of romance I love to lose myself in.
