LOVED this intense, angsty romance.
I love books where you feel the angst coming off the page from the characters, and this one was exactly the kind of angsty romance I love to lose myself in. I read this in one sitting because I couldn’t put it down, and I just had to see what would happen next. Braxton and Kaylee were high school sweethearts who were in love and determined to be together forever, but then something happens and they are both left mired in heartbreak and devastation. The book picks up again six years later when Braxton’s band is desperate for a PR person for their tour and Kaylee is desperate for a job. Thus they are thrust together. The angst was high in this one, which I love. There is also a lot of chemistry, steam and I ate up every minute of reading this book. I’m not usually one for books that start in the past and pick up after a separation, but this is only for the first 7 chapters before we land back in the present and Kaylee and Braxton are brought back into each others spheres. It can get tricky with rockstar romances that are interconnected, but Nikki Ash perfectly balances having the other band members on page and our glimpses of them – this was such a great read for me!
