Steamy, emotional love story.
In The Wicked Truth both Mads and Tobias have traumatic events in their life that have turned them into the people they are today. They meet when Tobias is back in town and have crazy chemistry with each other. Neither is interested in a relationship, but things between them heat up crazy quickly.
This was a tricky read for me and I waffled a lot on the three and four stars. Mads had things in her past that made it difficult for her to trust and she was quick to react negatively if she thought her trust was broken. I was frustrated several times with her reactions to Tobias – in the very beginning when she talks to him for the first time and pushes him to tell her something then gets angry when he doesn’t say what she wants to hear, and then when she learns he has a past he hadn’t shared with her. Mads and Tobias go through a lot of their emotional pasts with each other, and Madigan does apologize for her reactions and they have a lot to work through together in order to reach their happy ending. This was a steamy, emotional love story.
