Such a great read – intense, steamy and a lot of fun!
Dear Grumpy Boss is steamy, emotional and so much fun. I found myself laughing out loud at times while reading this. Julia Wolf is so talented that I keep thinking when I pick up one of her books that this is the best one she has written yet, and then I get the next one. This was exactly my experience while reading this. Weston is exactly what I like in a hero – quiet and intense and possessive. The chemistry between him and Elise just jumped right off the page. I love books where we get a lot of interactions between the Hero and Heroine and get to really see as their relationship builds and you definitely get that here. Elise has just come out of a long term relationship where her boyfriend violated boundaries in a big way and has left her with doubts and insecurities about herself. Her brother helps her pick up and move back to her home city where he helps her find work at his best friend’s company. Weston and her brother have been best friends for years and Weston has always been around for Elise, but their relationship has been somewhat estranged in recent years, and when they both realize there is chemistry there on both sides, things are complicated by the fact that he is her protective older brother’s best friend.
This was such a fantastic read because you really get to glimpse inside Elise and Weston and learn about all the things that have made them who they are. I loved the interactions you get between them in the office and then the family dynamics that both their brothers add to the mix. This was such a layered story and so incredibly well written. There were lines in there that I just loved and will be thinking on for a while to come. I’m desperately hoping that we get Weston’s friends books next!
