I love this author’s style of writing. Forgive Me My Sins is a dark mafia romance. Madelena is promised to Santos Augustine when she is just fifteen years old. Their families have been enemies up until now. Santos, despite being the younger brother, is next in line to inherit the family. Madelena has not had an easy life, her mother took her own life when she was young, and she was left to be raised by her father who is abusive to both of his children. I loved that you could feel the connection between Madelena very early on and that Santos takes very seriously his commitment to Madelena and that she is his to look after.

Forgive Me My Sins becomes increasingly angsty as the story goes on. Everyone has secrets and it’s clear you don’t know who you can trust, and it ends in a doozy of a cliffhanger that has me desperate for the next book in the duet, Deliver Me From Evil.
