Master of Lies is a fast-paced gripping romantic suspense. This starts right off in the thick of the action and keeps going right up until the end. Freya has sought out Jed, pretending to be someone else, hoping to get a lead on her missing brother, while Jed is serving time, pretending to be a criminal in order to find Freya’s missing brother. They come together when his prison breakout coincides with her visit to the prison and they are then thrown together trying to find her brother and stay alive. Although this is the first in the series, it reads as though it’s more in the middle of a series and my guess is that this is a spinoff from another series. It still works as a standalone and wasn’t a problem for me, just had me thinking I had missed a previous book. I loved the steam and action in this one and will definitely be tuning in for the next in the series!
