Finally Dara and Cruz’s story.
Dara is the Harvester Death Witch and Cruz the Aspen Pack Heir. We’ve been getting hints on them in previous books, and as their story opens we know that Dara brought Cruz back to life, and that they know they are mates, but have been fighting their pull to each other. They embark on a quest, to help save their pack, to seek out additional witches Dara know and bring them back in to the pack to help strengthen the pack. Dara and Cruz have both been through a lot and their story is not an easy one, especially in light of the danger the pack faces. We get a lot of twists and turns along the way, especially a big one towards the end that I definitely didn’t see coming, and I’m curious to see how things play out in the next book. I also enjoyed getting to see this world outside the packs as Dara and Cruz were traveling to locate Dara’s friends to join in their fight.
Usually these books are interconnected standalones, but I think this one would be a little hard to jump into without having read at least the one that came before it, Mated in Chaos. There was a final scene in there that has critical information that is helpful when starting Harbored in Silence.
