Longtime Crush by Carrie Ann Ryan

Long Time Crush manages to be so many things at one time – steamy, sweet, angsty and heartfelt. Sebastian is the single father of a little girl, trying to raise her after the death of his girlfriend in childbirth. Raven was his childhood friend, best friends with him and his girlfriend, only moving away for college to get some distance from her crush. She is finally back in town working next to Sebastian and living next to him, and as they spend time with each other it’s clear that the crush hasn’t dissipated and Sebastian also feels the pull towards Raven.

This was a really beautiful and touching love story, about finding love after loss. I loved Raven and Sebastian, but especially Nora, Sebastian’s daughter. As with any Montgomery love story, you get a full cast of Montgomery characters that add an element of fun to the story. Raven and Sebastian both struggle with moving on after loss and with their feelings for each other and this was an emotional and angsty love story. There is something that happens that helps them to really clarify things, and although I had an inkling something was coming, it also seemed a bit out of left field. I had been waiting for this book since we first had a hint about Seb and his story, and this didn’t disappoint at all.
