Captivating mystery that kept me guessing right up to the end!
I absolutely LOVED this installment to the Laurel Snow series. In this third book in the series you just get more of everything. It felt like there was more action, more suspense and mystery, and more romance than in the previous books, which I also thoroughly enjoyed. Laurel Snow is back in Genesis Valley, her hometown, on a more permanent basis, Fresh off two serial killer cases, she gets back into town after several weeks working on the east coast, to another murder that her team is asked to help with. This quickly turns into a series of connected murders, likely another serial killer, with connections leading to her complicated family life.
During the course of working on this case, she spends more time with Huck, a Washington Fish and Wildlife Captain and her work neighbor as well as love interest, and we get to see this relationship develop even more. Everything about this story worked for me and I especially loved that I didn’t at all guess the ending. I love when a mystery is able to take me by surprise. If you haven’t read any of these, you should definitely start with the first one – they are absolutely worth the time!
