The Echo of Violence: An Underestimated Novel by Candice Wright

The Echo of Violence took me by surprise with how much I loved this story by the time I hit the end of it. As it opened, The Echo of Violence is a little different from some of the previous installments in the series where we have a slower buildup to the relationship in the harem. I didn’t realize how into the story I was until I realized it was the early hours of the next day and I had stayed up just to finish this book. I literally couldn’t put this down until I was done.

Jinx was a confident woman excelling in a job dominated by alpha men, and clearly holding her own. She had overcome incredibly tragic and difficult adversities. But she also had vulnerabilities and a side to her that she kept well hidden. I wasn’t sure at first what to make of her, but loved her by the end of the story! I’m a sucker for books where the hero or heroine have a disability, and this was one I haven’t seen a heroine deal with before. Jinx’s harem are all alpha MC guys reminiscent of all the ones we’ve seen previously in this series- possessive, intense and once they are in, they are all in. But we get something a little different here with Jinx’s found family and I loved that they didn’t just disappear with the introduction of the harem.

The Echo of Violence was such a great read and I know this will be one I’ll definitely be rereading!
