The Tithing by Natasha Knight and A. Zavarelli

The Tithing is the first half of a duet set in the world of The Society. Mystery and danger seem to surround everything within the world of The Society and this is no different for Azrael and his family, however they also have the Wildblood curse to contend with. The book opens with a prologue set many generations ago when the curse begins, and ever since then a Wildblood is born chosen to fulfill The Tithing promised to a Delacroix. Willow has been born marked as such and Azrael is the Delacroix that will take her as the tithing.

This book has everything we’ve come to expect from these authors- a hero who is tormented by his past and the expectations on him in his present, a heroine that is forced into a situation that puts her in danger and at the mercy of the hero, and lots of mystery, danger and steamy, spicy scenes. Some of the details surrounding the curse are purposefully unclear, and I can’t wait for The Penitent so we can see how this all plays out. The last third of the book was intense and had me anxiously turning pages to see what would happen next.
