Final installment to the series!
This is the final book in the Redemption series, and as such we get glimpses of all the other couples from this series. I really enjoyed seeing them again, but sometimes the details on how each couple got together would slow down pieces of this story. When it opens both Gage and Wynn have sworn off commitment because of previous relationships gone bad, and are each others best friend. They spend a lot of time together. But things are shifting and Wynn is becoming more aware of Gage as a man, and at the same time Gage is starting to realize he might have an attraction to Wynn. Speeding things up is an appearance by Gage’s ex-girlfriend from years before who he has no wish to have any contact with. On the spur of the moment he grabs Wynn and kisses her in front of the ex, and Wynn announces that they are engaged. Thus begins their “fake” engagement which Gage quickly realizes he wants for real.
This was a sweet but steamy, slow burn, small town, friends to lovers romance. We get to really witness as Gage and Wynn develop from friends to lovers to more and I enjoyed the situations they found themselves in, especially Wynn, as everyone around them leans into their excitement over their “engagement”. This was 3.5 stars for me.
