Dommie and Walker.
Walker and Dommie have been involved before, but Walker pushed her away and now that he is has decided to come back Dommie isn’t sure she can risk letting him back in. Both Walker and Dommie have difficult family situations and a lot on their own that they are working through. Walker knows everything going on with Dommie and wants to be involved and help her with her burdens, but is keeping secrets about his own troubles and problems.
I love sports romances, and really enjoyed both Dommie and Walker, but this didn’t feel like a standalone. It picks up after Walker has pushed Dommie away and really hurt her, and this would have worked so much better for me if I could have seen them meet and all the emotions and feelings that Dommie and Walker went through from the beginning of their meeting. It felt more like coming into the middle of the story. I do plan to go back and read the book in the series that came before this one next and am looking forward to the next one, which we get some of the setup for in this one. Rating this one 3.5 stars.
