Avenging Angel by Kristen Ashley

Avenging Angel is a kick ass start to this Rock Chick spin off. I wasn’t really sure what to expect but this author delivered on this first installment to the new series. I absolutely LOVED reading this book and found myself many times either laughing out loud while reading or with a huge smile on my face. It contains everything you would expect to see in a book by this author, and did a great job of also bringing us back into the same type of antics and fun and hotness we used to get from reading a Rock Chicks book, while bringing in a cast of new characters and deftly interweaving some of our favorites from the original series. The mix of new characters and ones from previous series was handled well and really enjoyed all of it.

Despite the fact there were a lot of fun and lighthearted moments in this story, there were also some really serious, hard topics that were a part of this storyline, which was cause for some really serious moments in this story. Both Julien, Sniff who we met in Rock Chick Renegade, is exactly what we like in a Kristen Ashley hero – protective, possessive but also had a difficult childhood. Raye’s background is extremely tragic and the two of them together were a perfect fit. Despite dealing with some really difficult and sad topics, Avenging Angel was also funny, steamy and just lots of fun.
