⭐⭐⭐⭐
Got completely caught up in this one!

Nadia has come to Misted Pines to live in a secluded cabin for a year as she tries to process the trauma she has recently lived through with her mother’s murder. She gets off to a not great start with her closest neighbor, Riggs. Their first few meetings do not go well at all, but things take a turn and Riggs soon finds himself not only wanting and enjoying her company, but also feeling protective of her.

The cabin Nadia is renting is long rumored to be haunted and strange occurrences start happening, but Nadia and Riggs, are fairly sure these things have more to do with the tragic history surrounding the estate rather than any ghosts.

The Woman by the Lake has a lot going on and I found myself completely caught up in this story. I enjoyed Nadia and Riggs relationship and how it develops, loved his son Ledger, and the entire mystery surrounding the estate. I was hoping for a little more other woman drama with this one, based on who Riggs is when we first meet him and the hints of what could be, especially since this author can write that so well. We do get some issues and drama with Ledgers mom, but it doesn’t really interfere at all with what Nadia and Riggs are building.

I’m really loving the Misted Pine series, and really hoping we get more books in the world. I’d love to see Cade’s sons get their own books, as well as Harry. You definitely don’t need to have read the earlier books to read this one. They are connected with some of the characters from those appearing here, but it’s well done in a way where you need not have read those earlier ones, although I recommend it simply because I really enjoyed them!
