Love the intrigue and mystery – very different!
When Kings Rise is different from anything I’ve read previously. I’m a huge fan of reverse harem romance, and this is a straight up harem romance. Wasn’t sure what I would make of it, but like with everything this author does, it’s angsty, steamy and intense in a way where you are on edge wondering what is going to happen next.
Although I’m definitely hooked, and will be reading what’s coming next in this series, I also struggled with this at the same time. I liked Selene and Niamh, but definitely prefer when there is only one heroine and it’s clear from the start who that will be, even if there are multiple books in the series. Many of the others weren’t completely likeable so I’m curious to see how they develop as the story continues. I do love the intrigue and mystery and can’t wait to see how things works out over the next few books and how things work out in the end.
When Kings Rise is a dark mafia romance, intensified by the presence of a cult, with mature themes, mature language, and very mature steam.
