The Summer I First Saw You by Elizabeth O’Roark

Daisy is the niece of Harrison’s best friend, but she has always been in love with Harrison. When she is left in a situation with no where to go, she shows up at Harrison’s house and refuses to leave. Slowly, over time, the build a friendship, helping each other to heal from the pain and past they each carry with them and hurting over. But between the age gap and the fact that Harrison is best friends with her uncle, they have a lot of obstacles in their path. Plus Daisy is holding a lot of secrets.

This is a slow burn, age gap romance and although I really enjoyed both Harrison and Daisy, I had a little trouble connecting with them in the beginning. However, once it got going and things start moving between them, I absolutely loved it and kept turning pages to see how everything would resolve itself in the end. I wasn’t disappointed at all with the ways things worked out and really enjoyed their love story. It’s an emotional, steamy love story. 3.5 stars!
