⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Jamie and Nora are perfect for each other!
I really liked both Jamie and Nora and their relationship. This book does a fabulous job of allowing someone to move on to a new relationship after losing a spouse, but still is respectful of that late partner. It’s one of the few I’ve read where they didn’t try to either have that late partner be a ghost in the current relationship, or make that former one less than the current one. I really liked how that was balanced out here.
I also thought this author did a fabulous job of bringing in all the characters from the previous books in the series that we’ve met before and wanted more of. It was handled deftly, where the scenes and characters fit in naturally and I really enjoyed getting more of them.
Both Nora and Jamie were perfect for each other, but almost too perfect. I liked the angst in the beginning when they kiss and Nora is ready for more, but Jamie isn’t and hurts Nora’s feelings with his reaction to the kiss. But this is resolved before we even hit a third in and it felt like their romance was just a side part of the story from there on out. I still really enjoyed it, but would have liked a little more internal angst between them as they moved forward together.
I’m really enjoying this series and am hoping we get to see more – I’d especially love now to see Nico maybe get his own book! Embracing the Change was 3.5 stars for me.
