LOVED Jax and Sasha’s story!
I was excited to dive into this and it didn’t disappoint. We met Jax in his brother’s book and his backstory was very appealing to me. Jax was the product of an affair his dad had many years before and I was curious to see how that impacted who he was and what would happen with his story. He first comes across Sasha and they have a bit of a meet cute before Sasha realizes, unbeknown to Jax, that he is her new employer and puts distance between them.
This story had so much going on with it, both in what we see on the surface and then all the complex, nuances of what is not obvious. Both Sasha and Jax portray themselves to the world in one way, but are really very different at heart. In addition they both have things from their past they are grappling with and I spent a huge chunk of the book turning pages waiting for the reveal to Sasha’s mysterious past.
I loved the slow buildup of Jax and Sasha’s relationship. They have time to really get to know each other and grow together and there were aspects of that I just loved. The ending was perfect and definitely left me with a huge smile on my face.
