I thoroughly enjoyed this deliciously dark, twisted book. At the start, Richard is is an isolated glass cell in an asylum, at the behest of his evil father. On his release, after three years of torture, first and foremost in his mind is revenge on those who did him wrong. As part of his plan for revenge, he kidnaps Claire, the sister of one of those he is seeking revenge against, and traps her in a glass cell. Claire is already struggling in her day to day life after living with the abuse and mental torture inflicted by her vile brother. Thus begins the twisted, dark relationship between Richard and Claire, while Richard is also trying to navigate his entrance back into the world of the Irish Mafia.

This is a standalone, but includes characters from the previous books in the series and you have a much better understanding of everyone and their interests if reading in order. This absolutely is a dark book – there is violence, kidnapping, abuse, and bloodplay. I loved every minute of this book and couldn’t put it down once I started until I hit the end. Can’t wait for the next one in the series!
