Isa is sweet, reserved and does whatever she can to not disappoint her family. Rafe is the complete opposite – head of his “family”, dark and worries about answering to no one. He takes one look at Isa on the street and knows she is meant to be his. The rest of the story is his wait to make that happen and then his maneuvering in order to achieve his end goal. Usually no go’s for me are an age gap where when we meet the heroine she is under 18, but for some reason in this book it completely worked and didn’t give me any pause. I started this, got sucked in, and didn’t want to put it down again until I finished it. This is a cliffhanger – and usually I’m not fond of duets and trilogies or cliffhangers, because I feel like there is so much filler and they are completely unnecessary, but in this book it didn’t feel that way at all. There is no repetition to the characters and what happens and everything that happens serves to move the story forward and there is so much going on, that it being multiple books is just not a problem for me. Can’t wait to dive in to the next installment in the Beauty in Lies series – Until Forever Ends.
