When I read Bennett Mafia, I was very intrigued by Kai’s brother, Jonah, who was in medical school at the time and not directly involved in the “family business”. I was so excited to dive into his story, and it definitely didn’t disappoint. It opens with Jonah and his fiancé together, when she is killed right in front of him. Carson, is a forensic technician who crosses paths with him soon after and becomes enamored with him. Their paths cross again months later, which is when the story really picks up and takes off.
This is typical Tijan, with lots of suspense, action and intense emotion. This is a novella, so a lot happens in a short time period with the attraction between Jonah and Carson being almost instant and intense. I love how we get both of their POVs and really get to see inside of Jonah’s mind and what he is feeling and thinking – it adds to the story and gives it more depth.
