Loved this – different from previous books.
Dangerous Innocence felt like a departure from previous mafia books by this author. Aisling is young and has had to forego school in order to work and help her mother make ends meet while also sharing the care for her young nephew. When her sister leaves for New York and then loses touch with them, Aisling takes off for New York to find her and see what has happened, sure that trouble has befallen her. There she falls into the path of Lorcan, the New York head of the family, and he sets his sights on her.
I loved all the details in this story- it seemed to have more depth then we usually see in this author’s books and it allows you insight into not just Aisling, but also Lorcan and how he thinks. At times I was frustrated with Aisling and her stubborn, one track focus, which constantly leads her into trouble. She doesn’t learn from her mistakes quickly, but I still loved this story. There are times where there is high angst, but there are also some touching sweet moments here as well. I can’t wait for the next book in this series!
