I’ve been waiting for Finn’s story ever since we were first introduced to him in The Fixer, the first book in the Professional’s series, and his story definitely didn’t disappoint.
Finn is “The Cleaner” for Quinton Baird & Associates. I must admit I’ve found him intriguing since that first mention, and wouldn’t at all mind to have him breaking in to home in order to clean it! Poppy is a true crime junkie and has made a living out of her obsession, which is brings her to Finn’s attention. Poppy thinks she is on the trail of a serial killer, where the one link is in how clean each of the scenes are, and how they have been cleaned.
This was so good – I loved how Finn is protective and strong, but also quiet, awkward and vulnerable as well. Poppy is a mix of strong, independent, but also shows vulnerabilities as well and she is incredibly quirky and open with that quirkiness which only adds to her appeal and makes her such a good fit for Finn.
Although this is the ninth book in the series, it’s also a standalone and could be read without reading any of the others, although I highly recommend starting at the beginning because they are all really just that good.
