Rhythm is a Heartbeat by L.H. Cosway

This is a second chance romance that is also a second generation story. Jace, the son of Jay and Matilda from Six of Hearts, and Shannon divorced several years before after Jace lost himself during a difficult time. He is back in town, has been in recovery, and is looking for a second chance with Shannon. Reading this book felt like following along and getting a glimpse into people’s real lives. It’s well written and has you rooting for Jace and Shannon almost from the start. Sometimes when you have a child written in the midst it can be tricky, but it’s really done well here.

There is also a mystery occurring throughout the story, and although I had guessed some of it earlier on, it’s written in a way where you keep wondering and guessing who the culprit is. I also loved the glimpses we got of some of the other characters from the Hearts series and wouldn’t be at all disappointed to see some of the other second generation from that series get their own books!

Rhythm is a Heartbeat is a Six of Hearts next generation novel, starring Jay and Matilda’s son, Jace. It can be read as a standalone romance.

L.H. Cosway has a BA in English Literature and Greek and Roman Civilisation, and an MA in Postcolonial Literature. She lives in Dublin city. Her inspiration to write comes from music.
