Folk Around and Find Out by Penny Reid

It’s been a while since I had read anything from this universe, and I had forgotten just how much I enjoyed these characters and this town. Folk Around and Find Out is Hank’s story and how he falls in love with Charlotte Mitchell. When the story opens Charlotte is applying for a job as a dancer at Hank’s strip club, The Pink Pony. He turns her down, but when she then is hired on at a club with an iffy reputation, he is forced to hire her on.. but as a bookkeeper.

Penny Reid is excels at writing romantic comedy and I loved Hank here – he is grumpy, standoffish and I loved getting his POV. Charlotte was a perfect fit for him since she doesn’t seem to ever care what anyone thinks and just does whatever she wants. The contrast between the two is part of what really made this work. I had a lot of fun reading this and especially loved Charlotte’s children and how Hank was with them.
